Hi, I'm JC!
On this site, I share everything I've learned about becoming a highly effective fitness coach (without sacrificing your soul and every waking hour in the process).
Here are a few things about me:
- At the age of 10, I had a incident at elementary school where it change the course of my life and I went down the path that lead me to be in the health and fitness industry.
- In 1997, I took my fitness career to the next level as I studied to become a personal trainer.
- I'm also owner of Entrepreneurial Fit Dad. I teach people on how to build a profitable online business while enjoying the life they deserve.
- I developed a heart for the bodybuilding circut and thought maybe one day I'd look like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Now that didnt happen, but I did take home second and third place trophies.
- I started Reboot With JC because over the years in the industry I've seen a lot of people being misled with how they should be eating and exercise, but now the right information will be shown.
I mention all this here, just to clarify that when I talk about health & fitness, I do so from actual experience. I'm not just a exercising-about-exercising blogger who's only business is teaching exercising. :)
My basic philosophy is all about developing skills.
Highly successful health & fitness people are created by highly skilled, highly effective fitness coaches. Tips, tactics and information can only get you so far – there is simply no substitute for experience.
I apply this philosophy to everything I do in life, whether it be relationships or business ventures and it has served me well.
What is Reboot With JC About?
The foundation of any serious health & fitness business is all about helping people transform their life. Reboot With JC is about everything you need to build your new journey to live life to the fullest & to be able to share what changes you're going through with your friends.
There are three things your health & fitness journey needs to thrive: a good plan/foundation, fitness routines and a nutrtition plan that converts. These aspects are covered in depth, on this site.
However, the right tools and techniques aren't enough. Most individuals fail and it has nothing to do with a lack of knowledge or access to the right fitness coach. Instead, it has everything to do with their character, how they view things and the willingness to see it through.
You cannot start a highly successful health & fitness journey without developing the character of a highly successful person.
That's why on this site, we also cover the "character ethic" aspect of becoming an awesome, highly effective individual.

No One Knew What Would Happen: My Story
Many years ago there was a young boy who really liked to eat food. He enjoyed eating whatever was put in front of him. Always savoring the taste of each piece of food that had been given to him. Little did he know, things were about to change.
It was an ordinary day. He was in elementary school and on this particular day, just like any other school day, he had to walk to school. You see, he didn’t live to far from his school so that wasn’t out of the ordinary. He gets to school and then things are about to change forever.
When this young boy got to school, it started out normal. He went to class and learned what the teacher was teaching for that particular time of day. He then went to lunch, sat down at the table, and then ate his food. Once he was done with lunch, the teacher came and got the kids to take back to class.
So the teacher taught a little bit more to the class before it was time for recess. Now recess is suppose to be fun and entertaining. Not for this young boy it wasn’t.
While playing during recess, there happened to be some kids that liked to make fun of other kids. Kids being kids right? Well on this particular day this young boy happened to be one of those kids. You see, this young boy was a little heavier than most of the kids in his class. As I said earlier in the post, he really likes eating food. So while the kids were at recess they began calling the young boy a lot of different names. It got so bad that he was upset the rest of the school day. Once school was over he ended up crying all the way home.
In case you’re wondering who this young boy is, it happens to be. I was 10 going on 11 years old when this happened. While you might think that this was the end of me, this is actually where the journey begins.
I’m so grateful for the parents that I have. On that day that I came home crying they asked me what was wrong. So I told them what had happened at school and they got upset a little, but they didn’t dwell on it. Instead, they said if this bothers you, then maybe we need to do something about it. So we began to change history.
Now, I want to emphasize that my parents did what was best for me with what they knew at the time. What we ended up doing was, I was going to have a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch, and a sensible dinner. If you’ve been around a long time, you’ll know what that was. This was the program of doing Slim Fast. So what I did was have a Slim Fast for breakfast and lunch and my sensible dinner was putting a healthy choice meal in the microwave. I can’t remember how long I did this, but it was quite some time. From this moment on, I told myself that I never wanted to be fat again and that I wanted to help others who have had similar issues.
For the record, with the information that I know now, I wouldn’t do what my parents told me to do even though it worked. However, this was the information that was being taught years ago and people followed it. People were getting results. So why not follow something that worked?
When I turned 15, I began to do some weightlifting. I believe at the time, it was said that kids had to wait until then to start weight training. Now I could be wrong about that. That was so long ago. Those numbers have changed since then.
Several years later I was so excited to turn 18 because that was the age that I had to be in order to get my personal training certification. I also got certified in fitness and nutrition. You see, my goal was to help as many people to succeed with their health and fitness goals that I wanted to learn all that I could so I could accomplish that. Might I add, I’m always continuing to learn.
Once I became certified, I began working part time at the local gym. Being able to train people and help people with questions while there, was almost surreal. My goal was coming true, but I knew there was something bigger for me to do.
As I began to workout myself at the local gym, I started becoming friends with a lot of the other trainers that worked there. We began to create a bond with each other. What I liked about the trainers were each one had different experiences in the fitness field.
I remember this one trainer, he was in his early 70’s, who liked to do bodybuilding shows. I had known about bodybuilding, but never knew anyone that actually did it. So I was intrigued as to what it was about. I went to some of the shows to see how they were done. After seeing some of the shows that he had done, I was like, I think I could do this. My friend was an inspiration for me to start bodybuilding. I then began training for my first show.
Bodybuilding definitely was an experience I’ll never forget and it was also challenging. During my years of bodybuilding, I took home 2nd and 3rd place trophies. I had put my body through some vigorous training, which included weights and nutrition, in order to get them. On October 9, 2010, I went on stage for the last time. Because I had put a lot of time and effort into my bodybuilding career, I wanted to step away and start a family.
Several weeks prior to my last stage appearance, I met this beautiful woman named Jennifer at a church function my church was putting on. It took us a couple weeks before we actually set a time and day to go on our first date. That date eventually was set for the day after my last show. For our date, we ended up going to Starbucks for a nice quiet place to chat and get to know each other. At the end of the date, we had set up another time and date for an additional date. Guess I did something right!
Now you’re probably wonder what does all of this have to do with Reboot With JC, well, I’m getting to that.
So months had gone by and we had gone on quite a number of dates together. I guess we were starting to like each other. We were enjoying each other’s company. I even had invited her to workout with me. This was starting to get serious. Lol!
I began thinking of what could the next step be for me and my life. Here Jennifer and I had been dating for almost 4 months now. We knew what we wanted in relationships. So I began the next process. That would be of asking her to marry me.
Before I actually popped the question, I had done a few things. A month or so before I asked her to marry me, I had her pick out her own wedding ring. Once that was out of the way, I went to her dad and asked him for permission to marry his daughter. The last thing I did was I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. Well, she did say, “yes.”
Now that we’re married, we’re raising two beautiful daughters. We don’t know what to do with our life without them. They definitely do make life interesting for us both. Wouldn’t trade them for anything. They’re definitely molding us into being better people.
Well, it’s time. The moment you’ve been waiting for. You’re now about to learn how Reboot With JC was born. At the beginning of 2018, I decided I wanted to get back on stage after an 8 year hiatus. Reboot With JC started out as a way to track my progress and share my results with the world. It’s now become more than that. I’ve designed Reboot With JC to be of the highest quality to ensure we’re equipped to help you reach your goals of a healthy and fit lifestyle. Working out is not something that sounds fun, but with our tips and techniques we definitely try to make it fun.
